Filterbuy Smoke & Allergy Defense MERV 13 Air Filter

Why it matters

The Filterbuy Smoke & Allergy Defense MERV 13 Air Filter is a pleated furnace and air conditioner filter rated MERV 13 (MPR 1900 on the 3M scale). Its size table lists 146 sizes in 1-inch, 2-inch, 4-inch, 5-inch depths, each linked to its own listing.

Sizes by depth: 1-inch: 94 sizes (from 10x10x1 to 30x36x1); 2-inch: 34 sizes (from 10x10x2 to 30x36x2); 4-inch: 17 sizes (from 12x20x4 to 25x25x4); 5-inch: 1 sizes (from 16x25x5 to 16x25x5).

MERV 13 is the highest grade most homes use: it catches a good share of fine particles (0.3 to 1 micron), including much wildfire smoke, but adds more airflow resistance, especially in 1-inch frames.

The listing sells it as 4 filters per pack; the material is aluminum, plastic, polypropylene.

As general guidance, check a 1-inch filter monthly and change it every one to three months; deeper 4- and 5-inch filters usually last six to twelve months.

The Filterbuy listing names 4 filters per box.
