Why it matters

The Nordic Pure Pleated MERV 13 Air Filter is a pleated furnace and air conditioner filter rated MERV 13 (MPR 2200 on the 3M scale). Its size table lists 35 sizes in 1-inch, 2-inch, 4-inch, 5-inch depths, each linked to its own listing.

Sizes by depth: 1-inch: 25 sizes (from 12x12x1 to 24x30x1); 2-inch: 4 sizes (from 16x20x2 to 20x25x2); 4-inch: 4 sizes (from 16x20x4 to 20x25x4); 5-inch: 2 sizes (from 16x25x5 to 20x25x5).

Besides Amazon, Nordic Pure sells these sizes direct; the size table shows both where available.

MERV 13 is the highest grade most homes use: it catches a good share of fine particles (0.3 to 1 micron), including much wildfire smoke, but adds more airflow resistance, especially in 1-inch frames.

The listing sells it as 12 filters per pack; the material is electrostatically charged synthetic pleated media.

As general guidance, check a 1-inch filter monthly and change it every one to three months; deeper 4- and 5-inch filters usually last six to twelve months.

The Nordic Pure listing names 12 filters per box.

Compared with the Nordic Pure 4-Inch Pleated MERV 12 Air Filter: MERV rating 13 here vs 12; MPR 2200 here vs 1500; pack size 12 Count here vs 2 Count.

Questions buyers ask

Is MERV 13 right for my home?
MERV 13 is the highest grade most homes use: it catches a good share of fine particles (0.3 to 1 micron), including much wildfire smoke, but adds more airflow resistance, especially in 1-inch frames. If your system is old or the filter slot is a 1-inch return grille, watch for whistling or a filter that bows; those are signs to step down a grade.
