Why it matters
The PuroAir 400 HEPA Replacement Filter is a maker-original filter for the PuroAir 400 HEPA Air Purifier.
Made for PuroAir's 400 purifiers. The model label is usually on the back or under the filter door; match it before ordering.
Replacement interval, per the maker: every 6 months. Smoke, pets and heavy use shorten that; a filter that looks gray on the intake side is due.
It fits the PuroAir 400 HEPA Air Purifier, which its maker lists as rated for 2,000 sq ft. A unit that runs on high in a large room loads its filter faster than the same unit on low in a bedroom.
This is the particle stage: the pleated HEPA or HEPA-type media catches dust, pollen, dander and smoke particles, and it gets better at catching them as it loads, until the airflow drops. When the intake side turns gray or the fan sounds strained on its usual setting, it's due.
Use the filter made for your exact unit: purifier filters seal against their own housing, and a close-but-different filter lets air bypass the media.
The listing gives a weight of 0.5 lbs.
Warranty, per the maker: 2 years.
