Why it matters
The Filtrete 4-Inch MPR 1550 (MERV 12) Air Filter is a pleated furnace and air conditioner filter rated MERV 12 (MPR 1550 on the 3M scale). Its size table lists 5 sizes in 4-inch, 6-inch depths, each linked to its own listing.
Sizes by depth: 4-inch: 4 sizes (from 16x20x4 to 20x25x4); 6-inch: 1 sizes (from 20x25x6 to 20x25x6).
MERV 12 catches a larger share of fine particles than MERV 11, which suits allergy households whose system handles a denser filter.
A 4-inch filter (about 3 5/8 inches actual) fits 4-inch media cabinets and deep filter racks; it holds several times the pleated media of a 1-inch filter.
The listing sells it as 2 filters per pack; the material is polypropylene.
Replacement interval stated by the seller: 12 months.
